October 20 was a doubly joyous day for the Groton Garden Club. We were visited by Betty Sanders, President of the Garden Club Federation of MA, in honor of our recent state and national awards for the plantings at the Boutwell House, the home of the Groton Historical Society. Betty’s husband Neal then spoke to us at the Garden Club Book Group, because we read three of his gardening murder mystery books this past summer. Many of us who have been involved in the plantings about town gave them a tour of Four Corners, Prescott St, Hollis St, the Blue Star and Hanson Family Memorials and one of the watering troughs. Thank you to Laura S for organizing the visit and Jodi D, Chair of the Book Group.
As a bonus, we are pleased to be mentioned on Neal Sander’s website. You can read about him, and what he has to say about us
