We meet on the first Tuesday of every month from October through June.
Our mission is to encourage and promote interest in and development of all aspects of gardening.
We are a member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts and National Garden Clubs.
About Us
The Groton Garden Club was founded in 1923 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization. We hold monthly meetings from October through June which include a presentation on gardening or horticulture topics.
We also organize and run the following activities:
-
An annual Plant Sale in May. This event raises funds to maintain municipal gardens in Groton and continue our community service work.
-
A FREE annual public lecture for the community.
-
A Winter Workshop where members create floral arrangements for donation to Meals on Wheels and various Groton government offices.
-
A Native Plant and Pollinator Garden at the Groton Town Hall helps educate the public on how they can increase native plants in their yard.
-
Donated passes, located at the Groton Public Library, for the public, to the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill and Garden in the Woods (Native Plant Trust)
-
Passes for garden club members to New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill for FREE admission.
-
We educate our members through programs, workshops, and field trips.
-
We have a variety of committees that offer members opportunities to work outside in gardens or in other areas like the website, yearbook, or club publicity.
