The Groton Garden Club hosts four public events during the year. These are free to the public. Come and learn more about gardening, support the club or just find out what the club does around town.

Annual Public LectureAnnual Public Lecture 2022

Saturday, February 5 • 2:00 PM

This year’s topic is a follow up to 2021’s Lecture “Natural Control of Pesky Invasive Plants”. Now that your invasive plants have been removed, learn what to do next.
Daphne Minner, garden coach, designer, and botanic educator will discuss habitat gardening. This method of gardening shifts from being exclusively for humans to functional habitats for many species. We will learn about habitat gardening practices to employ, along with the benefits of using a native plant palette in our gardens.
These practices can buffer against pollinator declines and create more dynamic, enjoyable gardens for us. As a garden coach, Daphne has helped clients transition their yards into productive native habitats.
